With an Adams County Community Foundation scholarship fund you can help students achieve their educational goals and set them on a path for future success. You may tailor the award to fit your individual preferences, such as supporting students who are graduating from a specific high school, attending a particular college, trade school, or pursuing a specific field of study.
BENEFITS OF A SCHOLARSHIP FUND
Easy – You determine the scholarship purpose and selection criteria.
Flexible – Add to your fund at any time. The Adams County Community Foundation can accept gifts of many types including cash, stock, real property, mutual funds and agricultural assets.
Personal – Your fund is established according to your values and goals. Scholarships are often created in honor or in memory of a loved one.
Efficient – We handle the administrative tasks of your fund – from keeping track of your gifts and awards to contacting recipients and their schools – all for a competitive administrative fee.
A scholarship fund reflects your hope for the next generation. You’re saying, “I care about your future, so I’ll give you a hand up.”
How Scholarship Funds Work
With your defined criteria and guidelines, Adams County Community Foundation works closely with our partner, The Scioto Foundation, to administer the scholarships.
A scholarship fund in the amount of $10,000 can make annual distributions as determined by the Foundation’s spending policy (currently 4% of the fund balance). A fund can be created through an Acorn Fund for as little as $1,000 annually and through installments grow with no fees until the fund reaches $10,000 where distributions can begin. Currently a $10,000 endowment fund would pay $400 annually and a $12,500 endowment fund pays $500 annually.
