Adams County Community Foundation Supports New Technology for Community Murals
The Adams County Community Foundation is pleased to support the Adams County Arts Council’s purchase of a Meta Quest 3 headset, providing an innovative new tool for creating murals and expanding public art throughout Adams County.
The Arts Council’s first project will make the headset available to Chris Brown, owner of Peebles Monument Company, who will use it to create a mural on the side of his building. Chris is also inviting members of the community to participate in bringing the mural to life.
The Meta Quest 3 headset uses augmented reality to virtually overlay a digital design onto a wall, allowing the artist to accurately position, enlarge, and trace the image. The mural is then painted by hand, combining new technology with traditional artistry while making large and complex designs easier to reproduce.
The Community Foundation is proud to support the Arts Council in providing this technology for a project that brings art, innovation, and community participation together in Adams County.
