The Adams County Community Foundation was created in 2019. We are a “501 (c) (3)” tax exempt, public charity. deductible bequests, transfers and gifts. public charity. We are qualified to receive tax-deductible gifts, bequests, and charitable contributions from individuals, families, businesses, and organizations who share our commitment to the future of our community.

Our Foundation is guided by a dedicated board of volunteer community leaders who are passionate about improving the quality of life in our community. To achieve this mission, the board is committed to:

  • Responsibly stewarding all contributed assets, ensuring they are used in accordance with donor intent and the Foundation’s governing principles.
  • Encouraging private giving for the public good, fostering a culture of philanthropy throughout our community.
  • Providing donors with an efficient, flexible, and lasting way to achieve their charitable goals.
  • Making impactful grants and offering guidance that addresses both immediate and long-term community needs.
  • Promoting collaboration among donors, funders, and service providers to maximize positive change.

We are grateful to receive ongoing guidance and administrative support from our trusted partner, the Scioto Foundation. Until ACCF reaches full operational independence, the Scioto Foundation has pledged to share its experience and resources.

The Scioto Foundation's own success serves as a powerful model for what is possible. Established in 1974 with a $200,000 bequest, the Foundation now manages more than $64 million in assets and has given over $33 million back to the community in the form of grants and scholarships.

We are inspired by their example and motivated by what can be achieved for Adams County through smart, generous, and strategic community philanthropy.
