Fund Fees & Annual Payouts

The Adams County Community Foundation, in partnership with the Scioto Foundation, assesses modest administrative fees to support the day-to-day operations and stewardship of its funds. Fees vary based on the type of fund, with those requiring more administrative work incurring slightly higher rates.

Basic Administrative Fee

A standard fee is applied monthly at 0.10% of the fund’s month-end asset value (equivalent to 1.2% annually), with a minimum fee of $10 per month. This fee applies to the following fund types:

  • Unrestricted Funds
  • Designated Funds
  • Field of Interest Funds
  • Donor Advised Funds

Start-Up Fee

All new funds are subject to a one-time start-up fee equal to 0.10% of the initial asset value, with a minimum fee of $200.

Scholarship Fund Fee

Because scholarship funds require additional administrative work, they are assessed a slightly higher fee:

  • 0.165% monthly of the month-end asset value (or 1.99% annually)
  • Minimum fee: $10 per month

Annual Grant & Scholarship Payouts

Each year, the Foundation’s Board of Directors sets a payout rate, which determines how much each fund may distribute for grants or scholarships.

The annual payout is calculated as: Distribution Rate × Fund Market Value (as of December 31)

For example: If the payout rate is 4% and a fund has a market value of $12,500 on December 31, it would generate a $500 payout for the following year.

Grant Eligibility

Grants must serve charitable purposes and may be awarded to:

  • Nonprofit organizations designated as 501(c)(3) by the IRS
  • Public schools
  • Accredited colleges and universities
  • Governmental programs

All recipients must be U.S.-based and meet the Foundation’s charitable giving criteria.
